The One 17 Design Charitable Trust

Founded in 2011, by Huddersfield based One 17 Design, this trust aims primarily to support small local charities. Grants of up to £1000 are available to help people who are disadvantaged by reasons of poverty, ill health, disability or age (both young and old). Additional grants are also awarded to enhance educational opportunities for children and young people.

 

The Huddersfield Common Good Trust

The Trust is a registered charity formed in 1962, and is run by a group of local people who act as trustees and give their time and expertise on a voluntary basis. The trustees meet regularly to consider applications for grants from local groups in need of support.

 

Barbara A Shuttleworth Memorial Trust

Providing services to disabled children in west Yorkshire and where funds allow to disabled people throughout the UK. Areas of operation: Bradford City, Calderdale, City of Wakefield, Kirklees, Leeds.

Gerald Phillips and Family Charitable Trust

The Edward Ramsden Charitable Trust

The Ken and Edna Morrison Charitable Trust

The Denton Charitable Trust

Supports charities within Yorkshire. Priority is given to smaller applicants and social welfare projects. It supports children, adolescents, elderly, disabled and cancer care charities. It will consider individual grants. The trust will not support sponsorship. The trustees meet in May and November to consider donations. Applications should be made in good time. Areas of operation: Barnsley, Bradford City, Calderdale, City of York, Doncaster, Kirklees, Leeds City, North Yorkshire.

The Brelms Trust

The trustees wish to consider applications where the grant will make a real difference to the community and where appropriate it must be sustainable. The trustees see their contribution as part of an overall funding strategy for the project requirements. The charity provides funding support only to projects based in Yorkshire and benefiting the Yorkshire Community. The Whitwam Trust

Gives small grants for the support of individuals for religious activites and in special need. Areas of operation: Kirklees.

The Joseph and Mary Hiley Trust 

Provides small donations to smaller charities in the north of England and sometimes further afield to world wide disasters. The RNLI and Action Medical Research receive larger donations. Areas of operation: Bradford City, Calderdale, City of Wakefield, Kirklees, Leeds City, Ehtiopia, Sudan.

A small chairty who offer financial assistance to people who are in need in the Huddersfield, Halifax and Mirfield areas, whose child has died. Areas of operation: Kirklees.

The Metis Trust

Grant making focussed on the Yorkshire area and smaller charities and voluntary organisations operating locally or with local connections. Areas of operation: Bradford City, Calderdale, City of Wakefield, Kirklees, Leeds City, North Yorkshire.

The Michael Woodhead Charitable Trust

This trust favours donations in the categories of children / young people and will also consider general applications for support from other voluntary groups across Yorkshire. The Trust has funded heritage projects in the past and recently supported an interpretation map for Almondbury in Huddersfield.

 Voluntary Action Kirklees

Voluntary Action Kirklees (VAK) supports local charities, voluntary organisations and community groups. VAK helps new groups to get established and works with existing groups to improve their effectiveness.

 

Awards for All 

Awards for All, England offers grants of between £300 and £10,000 for projects that improve communities, and the lives of people within them. It is for voluntary and community groups, schools and health organisations, parish and town councils.
