the Community Foundation for the people of Kirklees.

One Community

One Community was set up in 2010 with the aim of generating funds to support local community groups, and to ensure that the Kirklees area would have a Community Foundation. Initial financial support came from Kirklees Council, West Yorkshire Police, and the NHS Trust. All our grants are made from private donations.

One Community is a registered charity (Number 1135258) and a company limited by guarantee (Number 07100811). Our constitution ensures that we are governed by members who elect the board of Trustees. View our Annual Reports for 201320142015, and 2016.

One Community is part of a network of Community Foundations that operate across the UK. That means that we have common standards of good practice (see attached our sample policies), and are accredited by the United Kingdom Community Foundations; and approved by the Charity Commission.
